A tray full of small, crispy banana bites with a touch of orange. This dessert is also perfect for sharing between two people. Most kitchens have a few spotty, brown bananas left over, so what do you do with them? Well, you make banana bites. Together with a smooth chocolate sauce and a little cream, this is the perfect way to round off a dinner.
Brown bananas are transformed into crispy banana bites with a touch of orange and a smooth chocolate sauce.
Banana cake: Melt Plant B+tter over low heat, then remove from the heat.
Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl and stir in the melted Plant B+tter and milk. Mash the bananas and mix them into the batter.
Grease and flour a 1.2 litre cake tin and bake the cake in the middle of the oven for about 45 minutes. Allow to cool upside down before removing from the tin.
Chocolate sauce: Bring all the ingredients except the Plant B+tter to the boil in a heavy-based saucepan. Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the Plant B+tter. Leave to cool before serving.
To serve: Cut the banana cake into square pieces approx. 2x2 cm. Fry until golden in Plant B+tter.
Mix sugar with finely grated orange zest. Toss the freshly fried pieces in the sugar and arrange on a serving dish. Serve with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped Flora Double 31%.
