Matcha Truffles

These matcha truffles are so delicious, but they're also a feast for the eyes! The matcha powder gives them a beautiful colour and a refined flavour. Are you starting to salivate yet?!

  • 1 1/2 cans of coconut milk
  • 3 tsp maple syrup
  • 2 tsp Flora Unsalted 200g
  • 3 tsp matcha powder + extra for rolling
  • 120g dark chocolate pieces
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt (optional)
  1. In a small saucepan, heat the coconut milk, maple syrup, and Flora Professional 100% Plant-Based Butter Alternative until almost boiling.
  2. Remove 1/2 cup of the coconut milk mixture from the pan and add the matcha powder, whisking until smooth. Then stir the matcha mixture back into the pan.
  3. Add the chocolate to the pan. Let it sit for 1 minute. Stir gently until smooth. Then stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Refrigerate for at least 2 to 3 hours, or until firm. Test the mixture by inserting a knife into the centre of the bowl. If it comes out mostly clean, it's ready to scoop. If not, continue to refrigerate until firm.
  5. Place extra matcha powder in a small bowl or dish. Use a tablespoon to scoop out small balls, then use your hands to gently but quickly roll the chocolate into balls.
  6. Roll the balls in matcha powder and shake off any excess; then place on parchment paper and refrigerate until ready to serve.
